Bayfield Tech Info
Tech Support with TeamViewer

Need tech support remotely? I use TeamViewer for remote support. As long as you have internet access, you can download and run TeamViewer. If I am online, TeamViewer will notify me, and I will request access to control your computer. Here's the link:

Google mail and Google apps questions

I don't remember my Google login information?
Your user name is just your email address. If you don't know your password, please contact me and I can change it for you.

How do I get to my new Google email?
The URL is https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?hl=en&continue=https://www.google.com/, or you can use the Gmail link on the Bayfield School web site.

How do I learn about Google Suite for Education?
It's pretty easy, you won't need much training, if at all. You can start with Google's site https://gsuite.google.com/learning-center/ You will find videos and documentation about your Gmail and other Google tools. Feel free to contact me with your questions and requests.

-SECURITY UPDATE!
We have had a few accounts hacked. This is bad. Some tips:
1. Do not give out your password.
2. Be suspicious of email links that require your password after clicking on them. It may look like a real google site, but it could be a malicious site instead.
3. Every week or two, it's a good idea to check your account to see when and from where it has been logged into. From your google email page, click on the little picture in the upper right corner (it could be your picture or the generic icon person), and then click on "Account". When you get to the account page, click on "Security" in the left column, then on "Recent Activity". It will show you a list of the different times and places of logins to your account. It also includes information on the browser and platform used. If you see suspicious logins, change your password IMMEDIATELY. I've put together a short video here: http://www.bayfield.k12.wi.us/tech/security.mp4

Wireless network questions

We have three wireless networks - Bayfield Private, Bayfield School private, and Bayfield Public. Bayfield Private is the main network for District owned devices. Bayfield School private is the "old" private network. There are still some devices on this network, but I am trying to remove them in order to turn this network off. Bayfield Public is for everything else, including student and staff personal devices. All devices on the public network are filtered as students by the web filter.

My device sees the private network, but I can't connect. What's wrong?
Access is limited to a list of devices. If your device is not registered, you can't connect. You'll have to come see me to remedy the issue, and use the public network in the meantime.

But I just want to connect this one time, to (insert good reason here). Can't you do it just this once?
No. Bayfield School devices only. Possible exemptions for CESA 12 or other school machines. It's simple security, designed to protect our school's network, devices, and data.

Printing

All of our printing runs through a print server in order to monitor printer use. I am happy to install printers for you, just let me know. We do not currently support printing from Chromebooks.
